EDC is a yearly electronic music festival. The cool thing I like about the brand and event is the awesome designs they make to compliment the great brand name! Every year the create different iterations for visuals that define the electric daisy carnival. If you think of movies like avatar or other sci fi movies with similar exotic alien planets mixed with a little bit of a magical feel and bright colors, you have the visuals for this festival. EDC happens in various parts of the country but for this project I chose EDC Orlando, as that is where I live and wanted to create my own take on this visually appealing and exciting music festival. I chose to create the event campaign creation for the 2022 festival season because I wanted to place it in the future but not too far off. I want to give it more of a sci fi feel this time around while keeping the awesome glowing flora, and the colorful and inviting ambiance that EDC is known for creating for their promo materials and visuals.
The first part of creating all of these deliverables was to create the logo for this particular event. Since it is space themed, I wanted to keep the colorful and vibrant colors EDC is known for, but incorporate a spaceship, stars, and nebula to give it that futuristic space feel. Every year EDC comes out with a new theme, so this concept of a space themed EDC festival is something that fits with the brand perfectly.

After creating the logo, I started work on the background art. This was a massive part of creating the visuals for this festival. I created an alien landscape with a planet in the background, and different color atmosphere to give it a completely alien feel. I then added the logo on top of that background, and it turned out great! It looks like something EDC would create keeping its vibrant colors and theme.

Now that I had finished creating the logo and the art background, I was able to create a Facebook banner, Instagram posts, a brochure, t-shirts using the assets I had created. I am really proud of this work and feel like it would be a great portfolio piece as it’s a well-known brand, and with the custom space theme I created. When it came to creating the artist roster poster, I went to the EDC website and found all of the artists playing this year and was able to transfer that over to this concept and that way I could finish this project without place holder text, giving it a professional look and a high-level concept.
Overall, I learned how to create an entire event package this week and I was thrilled to be able to work on this project! I had a lot of fun designing the event package, the graphics, the logo, all of it! I look forward to adding this, and building on it for my final portfolio.
