Stop Motion Animation

Stop motion animation has been a form of creating media for a long time. It has been used in TV shows, commercials, movies, etc. While the process of making stop motion videos is tedious, the result is something that audiences are familiar with. From “Gumpy” to “The Nightmare Before Christmas”, stop motion has left it’s mark in media across various formats.

During this part of the course, I’ve created a story board idea for a stop motion animation for the following module. You can view it here:

I like this stop motion animation, and even though it doesn’t make much sense, it is entertaining. Even these few farms of a candy corn and sugar cube dancing must have taken a long time to set up and create.

Stop motion with a modern aesthetic. This one says more than what is presented here and is a cool way to connect modern taste in design and art, with a technique as tried and true as Stop motion.

Stop motion with geometric shapes, patterns, and colors can do all kinds of things! I picked this one because seeing digital stop motion is a bit more rare.

This one is all about broccoli. It’s art in motion and stop motion is the method used to create it.

Probably my favorite of the bunch, it shows a really cool multi layered stop motion animation of an under water scene.

I like the digital format here and the use of unique colors.

More shapes in stop motion creating bigger patters and interesting visuals.

Here is my test stop motion video of a spinning pen.
