This week’s module is about sound design and sound in media. Without the added ambience of music, sound effects, and other forms of sound design, modern media would be missing one of its most crucial aspects in presenting a work or form of entertainment. Sound is just as important as visuals. It forms part of the experience, and in combination with visuals creates a story that people can not only enjoy, but can be led on a journey through visual and audio cues.
When it comes to effective audio and post production, Star Wars has always been at the top of my list. The sound design has been top notch, and considering many of the sounds had to be created for things that don’t exist, it’s always incredibly unique.
Tron has not only great sound design, but an epic soundtrack. This is one of my Favorite soundtracks of all time. Created by Daft Punk, I could listen to this all the way through on road trips and just vibe out to it.

This stylized typographic animation is fresh and modern, and pops up all over the place especially in commercials. It’s a great way to hold the audiences attention while reading in an interesting way.

There are many reasons Star Wars is Iconic.. Not just one. But if I had to start somewhere, the text title crawl would probably be the place to start!
Here is my finished stop motion animation:
