User Journey Map: Exploring Reddit

An important part of user experience design is creating the user flow or journey. Every detail of the product is thought of including how a user can navigate it, the differing user state paths such as logged in/ logged out, and the overall experience users will have when using the app/website/product. This project is visualizing the user journey, and allowing for analysis of how users interact with a website or product. Here is the information for the project:

Scenario

Using reddit to enjoy content user like and explore and find new contest that interest the user.

User Persona

My User persona: John H. Mathews

– Middle age (30’s)

– College education

– Professional or casual attire

– Single or family

Customized Exploration

John’s sub reddits are organized by favorites for easy access. Suggestions are offered based on your current subscriptions and you are able to give and receive awards based on your conversations with community members in different sub reddits.

Opportunities for improvements

– The Ui is clunky and can become overwhelming for users.

– Suggested sub reddits should be more prominent in order to automate the exploration process.

– Forum structures could use better design. Comments can get lost in the current forums if a specific post becomes popular.
